Rachel and Victoria met while studying for an MPhil in Heritage Studies at Cambridge University. Both of us had a longstanding love of small, local museums, and a passion for audience engagement, story-telling and engagement, The idea of working with micromuseums came from a combination of Rachel’s dissertation research, the thinking time created by Covid lockdowns, and our desire to help these wonderful, community assets survive and flourish.
We put together a business plan and were fortunate enough to win some start-up funding and valuable business advice from Cambridge Enterprise.
Then Dr Dacia Viejo Rose agreed to work with us an a more detailed delivery project and we were awarded further funding from the Arts & Humanities Fund at Cambridge University.
