What does it cost?
Our starting presumption with micromuseums is that you have no money!
Most of the micromuseums we work with are entirely volunteer run, charge no entrance fees, have little or no commercial income, and operate on donations and occasional fundraising events.
We understand that, and we try to keep our charges as low as we can, and tailored to the project. Our aim is to work with you to find funding for our projects, and to be flexible and transparent about our charges. We understand that every micromuseum’s needs, time and resources are different. The support we can offer is tailored to you, but below are some indicative costs so that you can make informed decisions.
Some examples of our charges
A standalone, Zoom-delivered, one hour talk costs £66.
A standalone, in-person talk costs £79.
A full Interpretation training package starts from £1,800.
This includes
- The project tailored to your museum
- Three Zoom training sessions for up to 12 volunteers
- Two in-person implementation sessions
- One site visit before launch of your Interpretation project
- Visitor feedback support, including feedback analysis and report
- One in-person project presentation to your team and/or community.
Finding funding
We understand that most micromuseums are unlikely to have the funds sitting in their accounts to pay for our services. So we work on the basis that funding will come from a blended solution. We can work with micromuseums to work out how our services can be funded, from grants, fund-raising activities and donations.
The aims of our work are very closely aligned with the goals of Heritage Lottery Funding. Any projects we deliver are likely to be eligible for HLF support. However, any application has to come from the micromuseum, we are not eligible to apply on your behalf. Though of course, we can help you frame a successful application to enable us to partner with you.
